WHO ARE THE PEOPLE BEHIND FITECU?

The Family and Equality Department of Castilla y León

Improving the quality of life of the elderly and dependent people is a backbone of social policies in Castilla y León. Thus, the regional government is working with local institutions and organisations to foster the implementation of a new model of long-term care.

This model is particularly adapted to the social circumstances of Castilla y León, designed for people living in rural areas and also helping to retain and attract population to rural areas by creating direct employment.

Projects such as “Atención en Red“, “A gusto en casa” and “Intecum” are some of these innovative leading programmes based on the use of technology and innovation to improve Independent Living.

“Soluciones Innovadoras para la Vida Independiente” Cluster

The Castilla y León-homed Soluciones Innovadoras para la Vida Independiente (SIVI) association & cluster comprises a number of public and private organisations —social care service providers, technology companies, university research groups, technology centres and service industries— with experience in the design, development and use of innovative technological solutions in the fields of active and healthy ageing, mental health and Independent Living.

Its multi-sectoral nature allows the association to cover all the steps included in an innovation project: imagining, designing, developing, testing in application groups, exploitation of results and marketing.
