Zamora

Villardeciervos

The event is held in Villardeciervos, province of Zamora, Spain.

Located at the heart of the Culebra Mountains in Zamora, Castilla y León, a regional game reserve and officially protected natural area with a unique biodiversity. Among its local species, none are more iconic than the Iberian wolf —reaching here the highest population density of Europe— and the popular local deer.

A Historic-Artistic complex, this village is a gorgeous example of the traditional rural architecture of Castilla y León, as well as a worldwide reference in ecotourism and mycology.

The area is a recurrent testing site for significant regional efforts on the promotion of Independent Living and retention of elderly population in their life-long environment, as part of the new Care Models fostered by the regional government, and supported by social and technological organizations.

Travelling to FITECU

There are two available means to reach Villadeciervos from Madrid by public transport: train/AVE or bus.

The train —particularly the national speed train, or AVE— is the preferred option.

An AVE trip Madrid-Zamora takes 1h, followed by a second 23-minute trip Zamora-Puebla de Sanabria. There is a wide offer of trips between 6:20 a.m. and 8:35 p.m. (link to RENFE website)
